Hello Everyone!

We are aware that an audio issue (audio seems to disappear) has arisen with the latest patch released to Steam. We apologize for the inconvenience that this has caused, and wanted to let everyone know that resolving this is our top priority. We are hoping to get something out within the next day or two, and will keep everyone updated.

Thanks for your patience!

Hi,

Since the rollback patch did not work for me I am really!!! glad to see a response from you guys and take notice of the priority it has. I'll keep my fingers crossed you get the issue resolved within the next few weeks. Really love the game.

The fix is coming in the next few minutes. Everyone's Steam client should start downloading the new bits momentaily.

The problem was that when the update was made to go live, not all of the proper content files were set to update, so users only got a partial update.

Once your new content updates, you should have audio just fine.

And for those that I saw asking, yes the command tower resource generation was fixed. They now generate 25%, 35%, and 45% respectively.

I think Steam is messing with this company on the auto updates. You may want to take your next title to Impluse. Even when complained to about this issue, they sent us back here. In the meantime missing the point that people already knew, that there game was about to be updated to broken sound, whether they liked the idea or not. They knew from the initial onslaught that they where force feeding users a broken patch from very early on. Why did they continue? Why was there no option to say no, I don't want the patch. Or an option, to turn back my game to the last version. Turning of the auto updates did not work. The game updated in a seperate Steam popup box. Very sloppy work from steam in regards to an upgrade procedure. Very sloppy.

By now, you likely know what took place.* The update we put on Steam only partially downloaded to players from Friday through Tuesday, and for some people they just lost audio, for other people the game didn't work at all.*

The fact that anything worked at all* is surprising since you had some files from one version of the game mixed with files from the latest version of the game.

Additionally, we did a couple of things we shouldn't have done - first we put out the update on a Friday - a true no-no that we should have avoided as we have in the past, but we were simply too confident that this update was benign and was going to be a positive experience.

Secondly, we at the last minute got the opportuntiy to show Defense Grid XBLA at Comic-Con in San Diego over the weekend and we were AFK for most of the time until Tuesday.

Two wrongs - don't release on Friday and then don't live offline for the days that follow.*

For those two things I greatly apologize on behalf of Hidden Path Entertainment.

Fortunately, the fix was quickly determined (people weren't getting all of the update) and remedied (full update now downloading) on Tuesday, and all should be good in the world now (including world peace I've been told).

Thanks so much for your patience and support through this.* We screwed up, but hopefully now you have a better game experience.

sorry but even though audio is back on it is now not possible to turn off the voice over, which is the only thing i dont like about this game.

never mind me, it can be turned down using the keyboard just not the mouse
