WinXP -Nvidia8600 -Steam Game crashed immediately upon execution

I updated directX to most current version, as well as my video drivers, and reinstalled DG. However I still have not even been able to get past turning the game on and having it immediate crash.

What's my next step to try to remedy this?

It's strange. Because Microsoft won't release

the upper version of directX 9.0c on Windows xp.

Therefore somthing got to be wrong

in installing update version of direct X.


Just do system restore.

and choose updating video card driver

if there isn't any troble with the game.
