Hello HiddenPath
I purchased the game from steam and I quite enjoy it. You've done a great job. Full regards to the team! However there are a few things that I don't actually like:

When I minimize and maximize the game while in full screen there is a chance that my cursor will get stuck at the right corner of the map (somewhere where normally I can't reach with the cursor) and the game fully works excepting the fact that the FPS is greatly lowered and everything lags like hell. If I restart the match or start on another map I have the same problem: being stuck at right lower corner, unable to move cursor and lag. The problem persists until I restart the game.

When I exit the game by pressing the "Exit" button on main menu it will ALWAYS freeze the game and all it's controls for about a minute then it gets closed.

[/list]

I was also wondering if you could please create a multiplayer mode for the game where people can play with a friend on a couple of multiplayer maps. I am willing to pay for it as an DLC, and I bet a lot of us would like to see that too. Also this can help reduce the piracy percentage by adding security in the server/client connection to properly authenticate and prevent the usage of game cracks.

Regards,

Hi Cypher,

Your last bullet point has to do with network traffic.* When you exit the game, it communicates with Steam to make sure to upload all stats, leaderboard entries*and achievement progress.* We should have better communicated that we were uploading / downloading data during that time.

The cursor issue, is one that some people are recently seeing, but only with certain firewalls.* Try disabling your firewall and see if that affects the situation.* If it does, calling out the game specifically to your firewall when you re-enable it, may be the solution.

As for multiplayer modes, that is a very large task of course, and something we hope to be able to do in future versions of the game. :)

Hello Jeff,

Thank you for taking time and look over my thread! You are correct my Internet connection is slow. About the cursor, I have no idea how this can be caused by any firewalls however you're the developer you must know :).

I am using Norton 360 4.0 as a firewall with custom made rules for defense grid to allow unrestricted inbound and outbound access to the network, but I will try to see if it happens if I disable it during my playtime.

I am very excited to see that you plan on continuing the development and expansion of this game. I am looking forward on seeing updates and additions from hidden path.

Also please don't mind if I ask but at a corporation level how Hidden Path classifies? I mean is it a stable and solid company that has current development progress or it's a dieing project as most of the other gaming companies I've seen these days.

Talking about that I am unable to access the main website: www.hiddenpath.com, It returns mysql query errors. It seems that the mysql database engine crashed.

Hmmm, I'm not sure why you aren't able to connect to www.hiddenpath.com (http://www.hiddenpath.com/) without problem.** Also try defensegrid.hiddenpath.com and see if that gives you the same error (perhaps not since you are posting in the forums).

Hidden Path Entertainment is an incorporated company that is about to have it's 5th anniversary.* We were founded in February 2006 by the five founders and today have 29 employees with 2 more starting on January 3rd.

We as a company have developed Defense Grid on our own (as you know), but also have worked directly for Sony, Microsoft, Nintento, and most recently Valve on other games and game projects besides Defense Grid.* We're currently engaged and focused on a game that we look forward to announcing in the near future.* It isn't in the Defense Grid universe, but we continue to have negotiations with other publishers and funding groups about getting back into the Defense Grid realm and bringing more DG content to those of you who are fans of the game.* We can't wait for that, and there are several possibilities that will hopefully get resolved here in the next month or two.

That's HPE news at this hour.* Stay tuned. :)
