    Checkpoint request

Hi, I just bought the game today, and I have to say that I'm loving it.

I understand the reason why this game doesn't have a traditional save system, but it gives me a little problem...

Basically, I play the game on my laptop which has a tendency to overheat. So... sometimes when I'm playing the game, my computer will shut down automatically.

Is it possible to make the checkpoints save in a way that if the game crashes or the computer crashes, you can continue from the last checkpoint when you reload the game? I know that if I quit a game, I can restore my progress... the only problem is that I never know when my computer is gonna decide to auto-shutdown...

    Thanks a lot!

    If your laptop is

If your laptop is overheating under normal pressure I would suggest either try to cool it down or open it and clean it out of dust or whatever there could be.

But be aware that opening your laptop will most likely remove its warranty.

I clean it out on a regular

I clean it out on a regular basis... and I have a cooling pad. The laptop is just badly designed.

An annoying solution, for an annoying problem

We only save the checkpoints in memory.* That said, we do save the game fully every time you quit.* So, if you know the laptop is going to overheat every 15 minutes, and you exit the game every 13 minutes.* When you reload the level (clicking the restart button when asked), it will load right where you left it.

    yes it will reload rigbht

yes it will reload right where you left it, but you will be minus 500 or so points (if that matters)

    "saving"

is it just me who thinks that "saving" is pretty much the opposite of having something EXCLUSIVELY in the memory? I know you can't write "Temporarily remembering checkpoint" instead of "Saving checkpoint" but you have to admit, Skytzo_Marc has every reason to expect that his last checkpoint will be reloaded if the game says that the checkpoint is saved,no matter how he terminated the game.

I could talk more about basic computer terminology, unfortunate wording, misleading the player etc but it probably wouldn't be appreciated

    ps: can I stop teasing?
