I saw that there was already a post for no sound, can never have to meny when it come to a problem this big. Bouhgt the game thinking, well sound sound it vary big should be a patch vary soon , well is not soon, been alot more then soon. Never have I come across a game that the sound did not work. And the new march 2009 DX did not work , Please say there is going to be a patch like yesterday. great game but would be so much better if I could use my speaker with it. Think you for your time.

So the March DirectX update fixed all the sound problems that we were able to reproduce in our studio.* That said, we don't have every type of audio hardware.
We've learned that the Asus Xonar audio card still seems to have problems, not only with Defense Grid, but with other games that use the DX sound engine such as "The Maw".* We've reported this to Microsoft.
One thing to verify.* When the sound engine is fixed, sometimes the audio volume sliders are still set to 0 level volume in the game settings.* Make sure that you can adjust the sliders and set them to full volume if possible.* I hope that's the problem (that they were set to zero before, but can be reset by you now).
If that isn't the problem, please send a dxdiag output as well as a msinfo32 output file (oldest file format please) to info @ hiddenpath .com and we'll look it over and see if we can learn any more.
