    No Sound Problem

    I see this problem being addressed, but not for my hardware. I have up to date drivers and just bought this game, but my sound will not work with it. I have a Creative SB Audigy 2 ZS. My sound works fine with everything else, and DXDiag is not identifying any problems. Help?

    Just to verify


    Just to verify - you have installed the very latest DirectX update from March of 2009, correct?* Having both that and the latest driver for your audio devices is important.





    Most likely though, the Audigy isn't a problem.* What is more likely the problem is another audio device, a motherboard audio chip, a modem speakerphone audio component, or something else.* Often the problem occurs when you have more than one audio device and one of them isn't complying well with what DirectX expects.* I'm pretty sure the Creative products have a good track record with DirectX.

    I do have an on board card

    I do have an on board card (Gigabyte motherboard) and the audigy, but I have tried turning one off and using the other both ways, and both of them are up to date. I am stumped.

    Ok, let's do what we can to diagnose.* Send me the output of Dxdiag.exe and also the output of msinfo32.exe (the older .nfo file format please) to info @ hiddenpath .com

    Looks like a bad setup for your motherboard audio.* I sent you instructions to disable that, and then your Audigy sound card should work fine.
