    Rediculous scores

How is it that some players manage what seem to be relatively rediculous scores on some levels?

For example, the top player on Story mode of Flight Plan has 200,000+. My best is just shy of 40k with 6 towers, whereas higher ranks have many more towers.

My understanding was that all the tower values, cores, and available resources were combined for a final score. If players are purchasing so many more towers, wouldn't that work against the total number of available resources, especially since the resale value of towers is a fraction of the purchase point?

I get there are tricks like leaving Seekers alone to summon more aliens in order to harvest more resources, but are these scores indicative of a bug, cheat, or am I just missing a strategy?

    Understood and suggested workaround

Ok. So after some research, I understand that players can build long paths, and 'bounce' aliens back and forth to build up large amounts of interest.

While technically this is perfectly acceptable in the tenets of the game, it (IMHO) definitely smacks of cheese if not cheating the spirit of the game. Is not the point of a TD game to do the most with the least? That one who can pass a level with the least amount of 'effort' (towers built) would be considered more successful?

I would propose that a score for a given level be tied more tightly with the literal number of towers/upgrades one builds, perhaps scaling or dividing the score provided by resources and cores by the number of towers/upgrades. In that case, more towers/upgrades built means a larger divisor and a smaller resulting score. Those who pass a level with less towers built would have a larger score.

    Comments?
