Two?
Sooo...is there any chance we could see this game turn into a series? Defense Grid 2?
Sorry if it's been asked before. D:

we're hoping
We're excited by how many people have found Defense Grid on XBLA and if the sales keep up, that bodes well for a Defense Grid 2.

Looking forward to a "2" as well....
One suggestion for the suggestion box - it'd be really cool if you could select a tower and choose the order of aliens that it shoots at, e.g., turtle, then juggernaut, then racer, etc., etc. JM2c.

That's great news -- haven't
That's great news -- haven't even completed the first game and very much looking forward to what you do with the 2nd.
Here's my 2 cent suggestion: For a bit of added fun it would be great if instead of always keeling over, the aliens died in ways specific to whatever weapon that dealt their death blow; i.e. burning up if it was an inferno, tearing to shreds if it was a gun, disintegrating if was a laser, or exploding with a pop if it was the cannon. I love all the details in the current game and something like that would be so satisfying!

Re: Two?
More Weapons of course. Acid Towers - Redudcing Armor;
Teleporter/TimeWarp Tower - Sends aliens back in line/time.
Goo Tower - Slowing and/or Stopping Aliens in their tracks.
BFG Tower - Goes without saying.
Shrink Tower - Tiny, tiny aliens (could speed them up as a side-effect)
Sticky Grenade Tower - Stick, stick, stick --- BOOM!
Laser Grid - Without the tower, but shapes alien path.
Target Assist Tower - Increase firepower and accuracy of surrounding towers.
Retrieval Tower - Makes aliens drop a stollen power orb.

Re: Two?
I think it would be fun to have the level 1 towers be able to upgrade into different, but similar, towers. Like level 1 concussion grenade tower can upgrade to either level 2 concussion or level 2 sticky grenade.

Re: Two?
or gun tower could upgrade to lv 2 normal gun or sniper rifle or laser could upgrade to lv 2 normal or pulse laser! i'd like also to see something i think is called wave! there is a tank in Command & conquer 2 or 3 can't remember but i loved it

Re: Two?
Yeah that's great to hear that you will most likely be making a DG2. You really took the tower defense genre up several notches from it's typical browser game style of play. More importantly, you really stuffed a lot of content into the game, made sure the gamers would enjoy it, and have plenty of levels and modes of play.<dl><dl>
A lot of games that are made with quality like DG sometimes go overlooked, and I am glad this wasn't the case here. I have gold on almost every level on x360, I spread the word on all of the websites that I work on, and I can't wait for DG2 to be released.
I have definitely played DG more than any disc based game, and as long as you keep making quality tower defense games, I will buy every one of them. Congrats on your success.

let that be an advanched option... that is too micromanagement i think.

Re: Two?
The only suggestion I have for a sequel (and I'm sure I will start getting stones thrown at me when I say this) is to change up the theme a bit to keep it fresh. I loved the TD game Crystal Defenders for the theme and atmosphere (though the gameplay was a bit too dumb-downed). I'd love to see your guys' take on a fantasy or even better, a steam-punk theme.

Re: Two?
I guess that changing the theme might put things a bit off course.
The alien stting works just fine, there's no need to change that!
As for things to add in a second encounter:
- a two-tower laser wall (one on either side of the track) where the aliens have to pass through
- a plasma tower which acts as a long range gun tower, which can be upgraded 2 ways (choose): 1/ the usual stronger ammo type, 2/ a slight dispersive plasma shot
- mines
- a field disrupter which disables the shields for an amount of time
- spiked floor, where the can go over but gives a small amount of damage and slows the down (a bit) at the same time
- magnetic floor, which holds one unit for some time
I hope to see DG2 in a very near furture ;-)

Re: Two?
I know on Steam there's an ongoing debate about juggling (making aliens double back by constantly building and selling towers on one spot to close off or open a path). I think it would be good to limit this by having a two or three tower limit on any spot. In other words, once you've built a tower on one spot, you can only rebuild on that spot once or twice more. (Upgrades would not be counted as rebuilding.)
I'd also like to see, at least as an option, my score in realtime.
How about a map editor? Mods?

Re: Two?
Some other things that I came up with, which might add something to it: a tower that spawns a drone, once the drone is spawned, it goes down the track (opposite direction as the aliens) and attacks all that comes in his way, destroying itself when leaving./ Some towers can upgrade in 2 ways: lets say "Laser" can either multiply its damage (as it is now) but can also diverse its beams and attack more than one alien at the time (the upgrade limit still being only 3 times; but can be /for example/ UP1: damage 2 aliens + UP2: do more damage + UP3: damage now up to 4 aliens)
