    Unable to play

I bought through steam and am unable to play due to the game always quitting to desktop whenever i try to play. When i open the game it will go to a white screen and then quit. Every now and then (10%) i will get some of the logo screens before it quits.

    Windows Vista
    GeForce 8800M GTX in SLI
    4GB RAM
Intel Core 2 Extreme CPU X9000

I'm sorry you are having problems

The things we've identified so far that exhibit this same behavior have been fixed by:

    1. updating video drivers

    2. disabling one audio device if you have two of them active.

    3. removing any debug DirectX development library and ensuring you have an end-user DirectX installation.

Do any of these fix the problem for you?

    Glad to hear it

The two audio device bug is in the library we use in DirectX, we're communicating with Microsoft on that one.* Obivously crashing isn't what they or we would want to have happen when it gets confused.

    Major frame rate issue

Hello, new here to the DG forums,...eh...new to any forum. Please please forgive me if this isnt the correct place for this question. First off I have read a dozen or so dicussions to the frame rate slow down on some pcs. I just built mine and finished a game from COH at full res and all the other bells n whistles added. Frame rate was around 50fps. I'm having the same bad luck as the others with this great game. Before I go check for the updates on my ATI 4800series twin cards I was wondering how do I check that I have an "End User DirectX" installation, and how do I know if I have this "debug DirectX development library" thing? Sorry for my lack of software knowledge. I only know how to build a muscle machine not what makes the games and software tick....or click lol
Thanks for your time and this great idea for a game.
    pc specs:
    Windows XP Pro sp3
    AMD Phenom tri-core 2.81ghz
    3gig DDR3 Ram
    twin ATI 4880 /crossfire mode
Gigabite mobo AM3 with onboard audio
(ATI HD Audio driver- AA01, Realtek HDef Audio, and Legacy Audio drivers are listed in "Device Manager")

    no worries

No worries on trying to figure it out.* Most likely scenario for a bad slowdown is the video drivers.* The fact you have two cards also can bring new settings into account as well - make sure that the Catalyst AI is not disabled in your ATI control panel as that can cause problems too.

Let me know if that solves it.

The issue is with the ATI

The issue is with the ATI drivers, they have been bad since 9.7 (I think) and are no better with 9.8 or 9.9
