    Windows 7 problems

There seems to be a few problems when running this game in Windows 7 :

    A) Have had a BSOD once
    B) Have had an abormal termination (program just quit when playing a level)
    C) The program wont shutdown when clicking on exit - I have to End Task to close the program.

Typically when you get those issues

Typically when you get BSOD or shutdowns, the reason is your video card is overheating.* Check the temperature of the GPU - Defense Grid is perhaps more shader intensive than many other games including FPS's though Borderlands also can be this way.* Typically shutdowns occur not because of the OS, but because there isn't enough cooling for your hardware internally.* Let me know if you have a cool GPU and we can explore other issues.

    Hello

My graphics card is a 9800 Nvidia fan-less card (heat disappation grid instead). It did only do it once on a level - and it's been played quite a bit

The actual STOP error was regarding memory access

    Good info

That's good info, thanks.* I think I still suspect the GPU overheating though.* Even if you get a memory error, that can still be the case - in the end a non-responsive graphics card can lead to bad pointers and cascade into multiple problems that can manifest as audio or memory errors.* Are you able to tell the temperature of the GPU during the game?* I'm not as familiar with NVidia's control panel - I know ATI's will tell you for ATI cards.* There are several free utilities out there too that will provide that info.* I'm glad it is happening rarely, but clearly we don't want it to happen at all.

Oh, I've been talking about A & B in your original post.* I suspect C is a different issue and it sounds like it might be a thread situation.* Are you able to run the game in WinXP compatibility mode?* That might solve that issue.

    52 degrees is good

Well, yes, my theory appears quite wrong with a 52 degree C GPU, it should be fine.* It will be good to hear how compat mode works for you.

    Re: Windows 7 problems

I have just re-installed the game on a new hard drive.

When I launch the game I have 0 Resources, which makes it impossible to set up any towers.

    Is there a fix?

The first level of the game doesn't give you resources until after some explanation.* Is that what you are observing, or is it something else?* Can you be more specific on which level and in which situation (new level, save game, etc.) you are in where you don't have resources?
