Hi - just started using Win 7, longtime Mac and Unix/Linux person. My machine is a custom build:




Athlon II X3 2.7Ghz, 4Gb memory
Win 7 Premium (64 bit), all updates applied
ATI Radeon 5750 1Gb (latest Catalyst 10.3 drivers applied)




and I've just started messing around with games.


All the Valve Orange Box stuff works fine (came for Portal, stayed for TF2); got Steam, downloaded the DG:A demo.


When I start it, I get a black screen. Sound is OK, but a black screen that I cannot recover from (reboot required).


So, how do I proceed from here?
