Unable to view Achievements from Main Menu

I haven't had any problems with the game except for achievements. When I click on the icon on the main menu nothing happens. It makes the clicking sound and that's it. All the other menu links work just fine. Am I the only one with this issue?

Are you connected / logged in to steam?* Achievements aren't available if not (we use their system)

yes and yes. I can see the achievements in steam, but the menu item in Defense Grid itself does nothing.

The button in the game brings up the steam overlay so you can go look at the achievements and stats.* It is possible for you to disable the steam overlay in your steam settings, and if you have done this, then it would seem like the button doesn't do anything.* Is that what it happening?
