Own DG Awakening DVD - Cant install Resurgence packs without Steam of D2D?

I own Defense Grid Awakening on a real DVD (not a download) - I then purchased the DG Resurgence packs through Direct2Drive, but it tells me I have to own Defense Grid Awakening through Steam or Direct2Drive to install the packs???

Can you please clarify what I need to do to install the DG Resurgence packs from D2D?.

Hi,

It is true that the expansions are only available for Xbox 360 or the Steam version of the PC game. Because of this, we included a free Steam download key in the CD packaging on the back of the CD manual.

Use that key to install the Steam version of Defense Grid and then install the resurgence expansions you purchased. Also your Steam version will include the Borderlands expansion for free as well.
