Game doesn't start

I installed and activated Defensegrid and the 3 resergence packs through steam. When I click on play, nothing happens. Doesn't start and I get no error messages. On Or off line.

Hmm, well, when you click the play button on Steam, it should run the installer the first time, and then activate the game following that.* Don't worry about Resurgence - that's extra content the game will use when it runs so there is nothing to "play" directly from the Steam menu there.





It sounds like you may have a Steam issue on how the game is getting installed or something is blocking the installer from progressing.* Try pausing antivirus as a first step.* Also contact the Steam folks as well as they'll know the possibilities of what could be happening better than we will.

I know this thread is a bit old but I had a similar problem and thought I'd share the solution that worked for me.

I tried uninstalling the game and redownloading to install again (Steam client).I deactivated my antivirus as suggested but no joy.
When I located the .exe file for Defense Grid and tried to run the game that way I got an error "X3daudio1_6.dll not found. Reinstalling might help fix this."

I did a quick search for directx, installed the latest version and the game works fine.Hope this is of some use to someone.
