Well, either they know something we don't know, or it was a very poor way of getting you off of the phone. There is no game update coming sadly, that part I am sure about, but if as we suspect it isn't the game code that is at fault, perhaps a achievement system update or a dash update could make a difference. We at Hidden Path haven't been told about anything though.

I have had no issues at all when I bought the game and had the four map packs (so no You Monster DLC). Does this mean that if buy this DLC, the game will break or will it be OK? Since, it has been a few weeks since the last post in this thread, has the issue been resolved or is it still present? I really do enjoy the game and bought again on Xbox because my PC went bust.
Well, you have already recieved the update even if you didn't buy You Monster. If you don't have any issues now, you likely won't have any issues afterwards. It would be great to hear confirmation of this and learn what happens. Our understanding though is that it is a back-end issue and not a DLC issue.

I will buy the DLC when I have the money to get the points and I will post back here. Although, on another issue, is it normal that the game has frame rate issues? Because the game lags constantly and it will never run at a stable FPS. It is not really bad lag, only slight, but it is noticeable and gets worse when there is a lot going on. I'm not sure if this due to the CPU power the game needs or if it is the game not being ported properly or just my Xbox. Could you advise on why this might be? Thanks.

As for perf, on Xbox 360, it should be constant, and the only times you should see slowdowns are on expanded challenge modes such as grinder or super grinder where you as a player can possibly use many of the towers that take up more perf than is normal and you have hundreds of aliens animating at the same time. Do you see slowdowns on any of the story modes or typical challenge modes on your Xbox 360?

In regards, to the free DLC code, thank you very much indeed, I have sent a private message to you. I do get slight lag in the story and challenge modes for some reason, it fluxuates a lot. It isn't making the game unplayable by any means but it is just a bit of frustation at times when it starts to lag.
Hmm, that is odd that you see slowdowns on Xbox 360. Is it possilbe that your Xbox 360 is not well ventillated. Overheating of the graphics chip could cause some slowdowns and better ventillation could help that.

It is certaintly a possbility but I don't think so as other games run just fine unless the servers are lagging, however I will buy an external fan to keep it more cool.
Just a follow up post, the game is loading up very slowly. I just see a black screen for more than 10 seconds and then the game will start loading, I haven't got any achivements on You Monster to check if they unlock as the levels are quite hard

GLaDOS doesn't play too fair, but she at least playes the same every time.
Ahaha, it is quite challenging as I only just started getting back in the game as my PC has been dead for a while now and I was just browsing the Xbox Arcade and there it was! :P I wasn't really expecting to be on the Xbox if I'm being honest. Also, in a few days I'm getting a twin fan which I will stick to the Xbox to keep it more cool and still see if there is any slight lag problems as your theory of overheating causing the lag could be true as I find when playing for long periods on other games, I do get slight lag aswell. I shall keep you posted!

I fitted my external fan on one of the vents and I'm not getting lag any more at all, so it looks you were right!
So glad to hear that was the issue. Yeah, Defense Grid really pushes the GPU with its shaders believe it or not.
Defense Grid is one of the first tower defense games I've ever played and got me into the genre. I've loved the game but I have to say that the bug issues have been disappointing. I have the three extra map packs and have 100% of the achievements on all of them. I started getting the "failed to give achievement" message after an Xbox dashboard update. My hard drive died (not due to Defense Grid) after I had received all achievements so I installed a new Xbox hard drive and re-installed the game and all of the map packs. I still get the 'failed to give achievement' messages multiple times a map, every map I play. It happens when I kill the first alien of the level and the first time I use the orbital laser. I've deleted everything I can and re-installed several times and I still get the messages and the game freezes, requiring a restart about every two to three levels finished. I do wish there were a fix to this game, as it is one of my favorites. Thank you for the forum, I just wanted to say how bad it is on my system and see if anyone had had any success with other fixes. Thanks again.

Please understand that if we had control of the issue it would be gone. But, we don't. The issue comes from Microsoft's achievement system and the new dash and some crazy impact to our game that we don't have details on.
Because of this, we understand that your game experience is impacted negatively, and what we do have the power to do is give you a free code so that you can play on the PC where we do have more control and where this type of problem doesn't exist.

Having all of the above mentioned problems though only since installing You Monster.
Love DG and probably spent more time playing that one game more than anything else.
It's a real shame this is out of your control Jeff as I know you chaps would do your best to get it sorted out.
It's annoying for sure, but I'll put up with it - getting all golds is more important!
Maybe this is a dumb suggestion, and it probably wouldn't help with the freezing issue, but couldn't you have the game ignore the achievement error message entirely and just not surface it to the player?
