X360 Defense Grid freezing before press start screen

I wish I'd had the foresight to come to this forum before getting a new xbox 360! I thought it was my HDD that was fried but no, it turns out that everyone seems to be having the same problem. I'm almost embarrased to admit how many hours have been sunk into playing this game Imagine my excitement at seeing new DLC - You Monster. Microsoft points bought immediately and You Monster acquired. (tapping of foot whilst waiting for download and installation to take place...)

My first experience of the new content? Well, after 3 lock ups and force resets on the xbox I finally get into Defense Grid. Then the first thing I'm told is that either I'm not signed into xbox live (which I was) or my storage device is unavailable. I wasn't happy. I'd taken a game that was 100% complete, and added new achievements to it (so now not 100% complete) and it looks as though I'll struggle to even play it again.

I don't know how many other people have the same problem. If it helps at all, this is when it is likely to crash:

1. Start up screen, sometimes before "xbox arcade live" screen sometimes on that screen.
2. (If I get to menu) 50% of the time, storage is "unavailable"
3. If I get into a map, I can guarantee that I'll get a "storage/xbox live logout message" if I fast forward the action using the bumber buttons
4. Sometimes I just play and I get a "failed to award achievement" message

This is one of the few games that I've gone back to repeatedly, and I'd love to complete it. I'm just not sure that I have the patience to play for several hours, only to get nowhere when the game crashes and the *new* xbox locks up. I'm just left frustrated that I bought extra content when it seems that I'm not even going to get to play it.

We do wish we could fix it for you as that would be the best solution. If you'd like a Steam key for Defense Grid and the DLC on PC, simply email us and let us know.

Thanks Jeff. Much appreciated. It's such a shame as you guys created an awesome game and "bleep" Microsoft seem to have gone and stuffed it all up for so many of us. What we now have is a behemoth of a dashboard that is as ugly as it is unusable. Just seems to hog bandwidth. Sigh. Anyway... Guess it's time to dust off the laptop then!

no kidding... and "games" are now fifth most important... everything takes so long to load now it hurts
