Leadboard entries gone?

I played through most of the game in 2010, then did some stuff mid-end 2011. Had 100% achievements.
Now I wanted to go for the You Monsters ones and "Supreme Strategist" which was added without me noticing it.
But all my medals except ~6 (probably the ones I did 2011) are gone and I don't appear in map specific leaderboards. It's like I never played the campaign.
Did I miss something like a leaderboard reset?
I don't really feel like earning 150 golden medals again when I already had quite a few of them.

No worries. I assume you are talking about Steam. There was a leaderboard reset back in March 2010, but nothing that has happened since then on the leaderboards. What likely happened is that something went wrong with your Steamcloud save synching. If medals aren't appearing, then likely something local has happened to your save file. We recently updated the game to give us a way to handle the steamcloud synch problem. Here is what you do:

1. From the Main Menu, click on the Console button.
2. When prompted to login, type “guest” (without quotes) and press enter.
3. At the command prompt, type “medals_from_leaderboards” (without quotes) and press enter.
4. Follow the instructions printed on the screen.
5. Let the app run for a few moments.
6. When it’s done, you can exit the Console by pressing the “Back” button at the bottom of the screen.
7. Play more Defense Grid!

Let me know if that doesn't fix things for you.

Well, I guess the reset explains it as I got the 100 Gold Medals achievement February 2010. Also my local save was probably lost before steam cloud was added. At least I think because I probably didn't pay much attention to that save. Leaderboard score was stored online after all and that was the only important thing.

So, everything from scratch I guess.

Well, not necessarily. If you have your default.dgu old files from your Steam directory, let us know, and perhaps we can help restore info. Medals are all done locally.

Umm... I don't think it'll work as you probably included some sort of protection but what would happen if I copy the save of someone else?

I actually think that will work, but I'm not quite sure - not because of any security, but I'm not sure if steam user name is stored in there as well. I'll find out.

Currently you can't share save files because user data is stored in them and if it doesn't match up it doesn't read the file.
