Freeze on exit

Well, I did a search and found a thread from 2009 on this, but nothing since. Nine times out of ten the game freezes when I attempt to exit. This is the PC version under Win 7. Additionally, it doesn't seem to always acknowledge with the proper award/ribbon/whatever -- that I have completed a map with all 24 cores. Both of these issues are merely annoying, but resolution would be nice. Any suggestions?

What you perceive as freezing is likely the game in communication with Steam on exit. It can take 30 seconds to talk to Steam sometimes and it may then not acknowledge your data on the leaderboards and such if you interrupt it. Let it sit for a minute or so and see if that gets things back and behaving normally again. When we added the Steam data check at the end we should have put up a dialog box. For many people it can be just a few second, but sometimes it can get longer and longer.

Well, that probably explains the freeze, since I am playing offline -- the one in ten times it worked I was probably logged into Steam.

This happens to me too, every single time I exit it hangs for about 40 seconds and then closes. I've been Alt-Tabbing and killing the process in task manager... guess I'd better stop doing that, eh?

Nice to know it's not a hardware issue on my part! I'm on a satellite internet connection with a 900ms ping, if that factors in at all.
