    Orbital Laser issue

    Hi,

I have a problem with the Orbital LAser since the begining of the game.
It auto-fire as soon as it's ready, every time.
At first it wasn't too much of a problem but now I'm at the advanced levels and I need to be able to choose when to fire it.

I tried to change the key binding in case somehow my system was pressing the L automaticaly but it kept auto firing.

Does someone knows what could it be ?

    Thanks

    Hmmm...

I haven't heard of this one before either.* I am with you on the key binding thing - it does sound like the key is being held down or something.*

Please do send a Dxdiag report and a sysinfo report if you can to info <at> hiddenpath .com and we'll take a look and see if it tells us anything.**

    Re: Orbital Laser issue

    Jeff,

I bought Defense Grid through Steam yesterday and I'm really enjoying the game. I've made my way to the Flight Plan mission and I'm encountering the same issue that RedPawn saw so long ago. The orbital laser fires as soon as this mission begins and every time it becomes fully charged from that point forward. I also tried re-binding the key with no luck. The next step I took was to verify the game cache through the Steam client. Nothing I've tried has resolved the issue and I'm wondering if you ever came up with a solution for RedPawn or have any further information to share.

I'm willing to send a DxDiag.txt file, but I'm not sure where/how to generate the sysinfo report you mentioned in your post.

Any assistance or suggestions you can provide is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Nlaren

    Re: Orbital Laser issue

My recollection was that when people have had this issue in the past it has been either a key or Gamepad mapping issue. The laser can be fired by a connected Gamepad as well it also could be a keyboard or mouse driver that has a problem. The latter might show up in a dxdiag report. We're closed this week but an engineer could look at The output file next week.
