Principal Graphics Engineer

You will be responsible for leading a small team of graphics engineers for a AAA, third-person, open-world fantasy RPG that will take place inside the Dungeons & Dragons franchise using Unreal Engine 5. The graphics team is responsible for the technologies behind visual effects, lighting, and simulations, and for maintaining performance. You will be working closely with directors and leads to achieve the project’s graphics goals.

As a Principal Graphics Engineer, you will be responsible for day to day task management, task and feature estimations, contributing your advice on the architecture for new features, and code reviews for your team. You will also be responsible for leading the effort to profile and optimize the game to reach our target frame rates on multiple platforms and resolutions with assistance from your team. Responsibilities:

      • Collaborate with team members in the creation and execution of production and milestone plans
      • Schedule and track team member’s effort for both features and content
      • Facilitate communication and collaboration across disciplines, strike teams, and stakeholders
      • Schedule and coordinate meetings; ensure action items are identified and completed
      • Iterate on production processes to continuously improve speed, collaboration, and team happiness

Requirements:

      • Have a strong understanding of multi-disciplinary (art, audio, design, engineering, qa, etc.) software development processes and practices
      • Self-motivated, empathetic, clarity seeker who is able to organize people and processes
      • Exceptional communication skills and possess the ability to effectively communicate with art, audio, design, programming, and QA staff
      • Excellent organizational, prioritization skills, and attention to detail
      • Experience in a production role on one or more shipped titles with a team of 50 or greater
      • Able to write clear, succinct documentation
      • Experience with Microsoft Office, JIRA, Confluence, and other project tracking and bug database software
      • Passionate about games and creating entertainment software

Technical Writer – Confluence Specialist – Video Games

Hidden Path Entertainment is seeking a Technical Writer – Confluence Specialist.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail oriented, empathetic, collaborative, organized, and has exceptional documentation skills. You have prior experience in game development and possess a keen understanding of game development language, practices, and processes. You will be responsible for assisting in documentation and image organization, maintaining organization standards and structure, updating documentation, and documentation creation.

As Technical Writer – Confluence Specialist, you will be working closely with a team that is developing a AAA, third-person, open-world fantasy RPG that will take place inside the Dungeons & Dragons franchise using Unreal Engine 5. You will work with a variety of users that create and use the documentation created for this project.

Hidden Path Entertainment is based in the Pacific Time Zone. Employees work a 40 hour week with daily overlapping hours of 10am to 4pm Pacific time.

Responsibilities:

      • Collaborate with team members on the overall organization of both the document and image servers
      • Assist in the development of documentation standards and ensure the standards are followed
      • Continually improve documentation organization, consistency, presentation
      • Assist in the creation of documentation in collaboration with team members
      • Provide updates to team members on documentation that should be updated
      • Collaborate on the development of, champion, and maintain a user-friendly metadata tagging system that has a variety of users with different requirements
      • Audit and edit metadata tags with the goal of improving search results
      • Work with internal team members to upload, replace, and/or archive assets
      • Provide user support in the creation and location of documentation with the goal of ensuring standards are met
      • Assist with location of assets or documents upon request

Requirements:

      • Experienced confluence user who has familiarity with most features including plugins and macro usage
      • Excellent organizational and grammar skills
      • 2 or more years working on a game development team of 50 or more
      • Self-motivated, empathetic and who approaches work with a collaborative, problem solving mindset
      • Proficiency with digital asset management systems and metadata standards
      • Strong communication skills and familiar working with admin, art, audio, design, programming, and QA staff
      • Passionate about organization and documentation
      • Passionate about games and creating entertainment software

Nice to Have:

      • Experience with Filemaker pro tools
      • Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premier, and JIRA
      • Ability to effectively multi-task
