Principal Graphics Engineer

Hidden Path Entertainment is seeking a Principal Graphics Software Engineer.

You will be responsible for leading a small team of graphics engineers for a AAA, third-person, open-world fantasy RPG that will take place inside the Dungeons & Dragons franchise using Unreal Engine 5. The graphics team is responsible for the technologies behind visual effects, lighting, and simulations, and for maintaining performance. You will be working closely with directors and leads to achieve the project’s graphics goals.

As a Principal Graphics Engineer, you will be responsible for day to day task management, task and feature estimations, contributing your advice on the architecture for new features, and code reviews for your team. You will also be responsible for leading the effort to profile and optimize the game to reach our target frame rates on multiple platforms and resolutions with assistance from your team. You will also document the features you create so that others can use them and understand them. This is both a lead and hands on position. This role reports to the studio’s Director of Technology.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience leading a team of gameplay programmers, be a gamer, have the ability to work closely with designers on evaluating the quality of gameplay, and be able to discuss the impact new gameplay features would have on existing systems. This role reports to the studio’s Director of Technology.

Senior Lead Designer – Gameplay Systems

Hidden Path Entertainment is seeking a Senior Lead Designer (Gameplay Systems) for a AAA, third-person, open-world fantasy RPG that will take place in the Dungeons & Dragons franchise.

As a Senior Lead Designer, you will be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of senior, principal, and lead designers. This role would help set the vision and oversee the design of most of the non-combat systems of the game (UI/UX, Progression, Items, Crafting, and more). Initially, this role will be split between hands-on design and management work, transitioning to more management and coordination as the project grows.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience leading a team, as well as working as a system designer for an open-world RPG. You will have the ability to work with broad cross-discipline leadership in a collaborative way, mentor your team, manage the design and implementation of systems, and work with the production team to make high level plans for the project.

This role will report to the Creative Director.

You should:

      • Be an experienced manager with a developed management skillset that promotes team and individuals’ growth, removes blockers, and facilitates clear communication while fostering an environment of authenticity and trust
      • Have experience working at a lead design level on a shipped AAA RPG
      • Have a proven track record of designing meaningful, well received gameplay systems that deliver strong player stories

As a Senior Technical Narrative Designer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing narrative systems. This position reports to the Project Narrative Director.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience developing narrative systems for character-driven AAA titles, and experience with dialogue and localization pipelines.

This role is responsible for exploring and defining the gameplay potential for a wide variety of encounters including: combat encounters, dynamic events, themed gameplay, navigation gameplay, and interaction gameplay. As Lead Encounter Designer, you will also help create the plan to make it all happen. Initially, this role will be split between hands-on design and management work and then transitioning to more management and coordination as the project grows.

Senior Accountant

Hidden Path Entertainment seeks a Senior Accountant to join our team.

Reporting to the COO/CFO, this position will be involved with the entire financial function, including but not limited to review of transactions input by staff, preparation of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, cash management, financial controls, the financial closing and financial reporting processes. This position will also work closely with the Director of Human Resources and will be responsible for payroll and benefits administration.

Responsibilities:

      • Preparation and review of financial statements, including monthly, quarterly and annual statements
      • Process payroll biweekly for hourly and salaried staff members
      • Responsibility for benefits administration as point of contact for employee questions and primary administrative contact with external benefits advisor
      • Prepare/review account analysis as required including summarize and present findings
      • Responsible for preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations and other duties as part of the monthly financial close
      • Create and update internal controls related to the financial processes and continually evaluate and improve controls
